USPA NEWS - In France, 10,267 people are hospitalized for a COVID-19 infection and 116 new admissions were recorded in 24 hours. 772 patients suffering from a severe form of COVID-19 are hospitalized in intensive care. 14 new serious cases were admitted to intensive care. The balance remains negative in intensive care, with 48 COVID-19 patients less than yesterday. Four regions (4) (Ile de France, Grand-Est, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Hauts-de-France) account for 72% of patients hospitalized in intensive care. (Updated on June 17 at 9:30pm) These figures do not take into account deaths from COVID-19, at home, or those of disabled people who died in specialized centers. We apologize for having published figures since the start of the epidemic, without seeing any mention of these fatalities, as they are unavailable from French health authorities.

188 countries are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 8.2 million people were affected, 444,426 people died, but almost 4 million people were cured. Europe remains strongly impacted with 2.22 million cases and 184,089 deaths. In France, yesterday, SOS doctors performed 120 interventions on suspicion of COVID-19, or 2% of total activity. Emergency services noted 142 trips for the same reason, or 0.5% of total activity. While the epidemic situation is stable in mainland France, Guyana and Mayotte continue to be subject to reinforced surveillance by the health authorities, since the virus is very active there. IN GUYANA MEDICAL EVACUATIONS OPERATIONS ARE BINEG PLANNED------------------------------------------------ In Mayotte, the number of cases is high, but the trend is downward. Capacity reinforcements and evacuations to Reunion helped avoid major hospital tensions. Throughout the national territory, caution must remain. In order to avoid any epidemic rebound and to limit the risk of clustered cases, let's all apply all the barrier gestures and common sense measures. Our individual and collective behavior conditions the future of the epidemic. So, for ourselves as for our loved ones, let us be responsible. The virus continues to circulate on the territory, as shown by the number of new "clusters" (239 cases grouped since May 9, including 4 new and 123 which are no longer active). No cluster has so far shown uncontrolled community transmission. In overseas France (Guadeloupe, Guyana, Reunion, Martinique, Mayotte), there are 166 hospitalizations, including 24 in intensive care. Since the start of the epidemic, 103,544 people have been hospitalized, including 18,245 in intensive care. 73,667 people returned home. 29,575 people have died in France since the start of the epidemic, including 19,118 people in hospitals. The mortality figures relating to social and medico-social establishments will be updated by Santé publique France on June 23. Source: French Ministry of Health
